a. This is a schematized drawing. It is intentionally made not to scale. Instead, all the segments are equal. The purpose of the equal spacing for unequal durations is to make the ends of each segment equally obvious and to allow equal space for labels, notes, Bible references, etc. In addition, the letters a, b, c, and d represent the seasons as follows:
a = fall Oct, Nov, Dec
b = winter Jan, Feb, Mar
c = spring Apr, May, Jun
d = summer Jul, Aug, Sep
b. Also this emphasis on the ends of each segment calls attention to the fact that a year is not a point on a line, but a year is a unit of time that has four seasons, or 12 months, or 52 weeks, or 365¼ days, etc. The point is, a year has a beginning point and an ending point with a duration in between. A year is never a point. It is always a line. The same can be said for a minute and a second and a nano-second. It is never a point. It is always a line.
c. When you see a year represented as a bar, instead of assuming that it is merely a point, one starts to get acquainted with chronology. Chronology has to do with beginnings, ends, durations, and relationships to other beginnings, ends, and durations.
d. The glib attraction of scholars to the concept of gaps that can be placed anywhere, anytime, without disturbing anything and everything is a purely naive pseudo-notion that does not even merit the name of a settled concept or idea, or theory. There really are no gap theories—except the gap theory that involves the vacuum between the ears of the gap theorist. There is only chronology.
e. In the above drawing it is easy to see how the AM Scale and BC-AD Scale relate to each other:
1. The AM year begins in the fall.
2. The BC-AD Scale begins three months later in the winter.
3. The Jewish year begins in the spring exactly 6 months after the AM year begins.

g. When you get through viewing this chart, you may click on the link below to view a full scale comprehensive Bible timeline. It can be zoomed up close to inspect all of its many details. It includes a portrayal of all the Old Testament books that are color coded in their three main divisions: Historical Books (blue), Wisdom Literature (magenta), and Prophetical Books (copper).

h. This is probably the most complete, concise, and comprehensive Bible timeline presentation in existence that can be printed on a legal size paper and then folded into thirds and carried in your Bible for ready reference. But if you want a complete education, construct you own.
i. After clicking the above link, if you want to print it, click the Download button and set your printer for:
1. Color,
2. Landscape orientation,
3. Legal size paper (8½” x 14”) and
4. Normal printing quality.
j. This is my last shot at summing up: Remember, if we despise Bible Chronology we are ultimately despising Bible history, because chronology is the framework on which history hangs. Remove the framework and what happens to the things on the framework? What does your chronological closet look like? Is what counts lying around on the floor? Who needs to smoke pipes and put on turtlenecks in sophisticated conferences in order to figure out what is going on here?
