12. Concerning the date for the birth of Christ
      En cuanto a la fecha del nacimiento de Cristo

a. Bible chronology does not treat exactly the birth of Christ except to say in Luke 3:23 that “Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age…” If He was “about thirty…” then this could refer to having completed His 29^th anniversary (meaning that He had entered His thirtieth year). Any time after having completed his 29^th anniversary to the day before his 30^th anniversary He could be said to have been “about 30 years of age…” After that, he was no longer “about 30…” but would have completed His 30^th anniversary and would have entered his 31^st year.

a. La cronología de La Santa Biblia no trata exactamente del nacimiento de Cristo, excepto para decir en Lucas 3.23 que "Jesús, cuando comenzó su ministerio era como de unos treinta años de edad ..." b. The BC/AD scale is fraught with problems because the BC/AD scale does not reconcile with any Bible dates going forward from the Day 1 of Creation, 1 AM. The original purpose of the BC/AD scale (Gregorian calendar) was to place the birth of Christ at or about 1 January 1 AD. Since then disputes have arisen over this reckoning. Personally I have no faith in any human reckoning. Therefore, I am satisfied with 1 AD (or late 1 BC) as being the birth of Christ and I key my chart to this, not because I know that it is correct, but because that was the original intention, and who knows? It may be correct. We will eventually find out. Meanwhile I treat as correct the AM dates going forward from Day 1 of Creation, and I treat as somewhere between approximate to way, way off, the BC/AD dates.

b. La escala AC/DC está plagada de problemas debido a que esta escala no puede reconciliarse con las fechas de La Biblia hacia adelante a partir del Día Uno de la creación, Día número uno en el año número uno, 1 AM. c. What I think is really important is to understand that Christ was crucified in the middle of the 70^th seven, which would be the middle of the 487^th year of Daniel’s 490 years. Since the prophecy was given in units of sevens (70 x 7), and not by units of ones (490 x 1), and the middle of the last unit is where the crucifixion took place, we do not need to worry about the remaining 3½ years because the whole 70^th unit of seven has been accounted for by placing Christ’s crucifixion right in the middle of it.

c. Lo que creo que es realmente importante es entender que Cristo fue crucificado en medio del septuagésimo siete, lo que sería la mitad del año 487 de los 490 años de Daniel.
