a. Paul Albert Hansen was born June 4, 1944, in Los Angeles in Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, California. After World War II his father, Paul Bellinger Hansen (1918-1967), flew a Grumman Widgeon during the summer commercial salmon fishing seasons on Kodiak Island, Alaska. The Hansen family lived usually in Pacific Palisades, California, where they were members of Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades, but eventually they settled back in Anchorage, Alaska. Lois Jean, the only sister, was born in Anchorage in 1948. Peter Bruce, the only brother, was born in Los Angeles in 1951. Their mother was the former Lois Muriel Cady (1919-1995).

b. Paul Albert graduated from Santa Monica High School in 1962. Summer seasons he was a commercial fisherman in Kodiak Island, Alaska. After high school he joined the U.S. Army for 3 years and spent one year in VietNam as an airframe repairman fixing mainly Huey helicopters. After VietNam he was stationed at Atlanta Army Depot in Forest Park, Georgia. There he met his future wife, Linda Claire Penton, a member of First Alliance Church (CMA) in Decatur, Georgia. After the Army, he went back to Alaska for one year of college at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. After a final summer season of commercial salmon fishing in Kodiak, he returned to Georgia and married Linda in October of 1966 at the First Alliance Church (CMA).

c. He continued schooling as a pilot, Airframe and Powerplant mechanic, flight instructor, and then returned to Alaska with his wife to begin a career as an aircraft mechanic. After a year and a half they moved back to the Deep South where Paul attended and graduated from Columbia Bible College in 1972.

d. This couple was planning on becoming missionaries but they ended up raising their own personal mission field in Columbia, South Carolina. They were members of Eau Claire Presbyterian Church (PCA) for 15 years and then they transferred their membership to First Presbyterian Church (ARP) in Columbia in 1993. They are still members there.

They have 9 children, Wayne Eric (b. 1968), Thorvold Daniel (b. 1970), Tanya Lynn (b. 1973), Andrew Noel (b. 1974), Laura Kathryn (b. 1978), Susan Elizabeth (b. 1980), Samuel Allen (b. 1982), Mary Anoma (b. 1984), and Victoria Irene (b. 1985). Now, Paul and Linda have 14 grandchildren. They still live in Columbia, South Carolina. The children are scattered around the U.S.
e. Paul y Linda tienen 9 niños. Wayne Eric (1968), Thorvold Daniel (1970), Tanya Lynn ( 1973), Andrew Noel (1974), Laura Kathryn (1978), Susan Elizabeth (1980), Samuel Allen (1982), Mary Anoma (1984), y Victoria Irene (1985). Ahora, Pablo y Linda tienen 14 nietos. Los abuelos permanecen en Columbia. Los niños están esparcidos por todos los EEUU.
f. Paul continued with the aviation trade until 1982 when he changed careers and entered the tool and die-making (machinist) trade. Later on he entered the design department of the company he was working for and lasted until the year 2000 when jobs got scarcer. He then spent a good deal of time unemployed and sometimes working as a designer or machinist but he was losing his edge as a machinist rendering him even less employable.
