Modern Chronology
a. The following are pages 29 - 30 of my dad's pilot log book. The entries from 6-24-1948 to 6-30-1948 show our trip from southern California to Anchorage, Alaska. I was 4 years old. In the Photo Album page, there is a photo of me standing with my father and mother in front of the little amphibian airplane that my father was flying. This photo is now (almost) a "documented" or "certified" photo because of these logbook entries. To be entirely certified, my father should have mentioned our names as passengers with him on this trip. When names, places and what was done are tied together with "when it happened" you have certified history. If the "when" information is not present, you have uncertified history which is equivalent to myth. If the "when" information is present, but you choose to disbelieve that the chronology is true, then you are relegating the names, places and events to the category of myth because you have taken away the chronological information that is the certifying portion of the documentation thereby making the alleged history no more than hearsay. The "when" information may be expressed in two ways: 1. Either the date that it happened or 2. The duration from another known point in time.
b. The minutes have been converted to three decimal places:
1:05 = 1.083, 1:10 = 1.167, 1:15 = 1.250, 1:20 = 1.333, etc.
